Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jun 22, 2010 9:34 pm Hi guys, Firstly, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone! I have been reading these forums for months. You all helped me make many important decisions for my kitchen reno. Cheers. Anyway, back to my issue. Basically, I have a concrete benchtop - which looked great (when it was installed!) But now, its slowly deteriorating. It stained only after 2 days and we are seeing white discoloration. See pics to examples. I have called our benchtop guy several times, he buffed out our first stain but you can still see where its been rebuffed. Not pretty. We now have many more stains all over the bench - its been 2 months... We have tried to get him back but he doesn't seem interested! No show. We are quite annoyed to say the least. Re: Concrete Benchtop Staining - Brand new Kitchen - HELP! 7Jun 22, 2010 10:48 pm Did they give you any instructions on care and maintenance. you cant treat it like a laminex counter. you have to be pretty vigilant no matter what sealer is on it , they will resist stains but it isn't a guaranteed defense against them. It seems that he had some others with the same problem. I'll post some updated pics once its fixed.
