You should have also got a power point, taps under the sink to connect to and a connection under the sink to connect the drain line. How much extra did you get hit, as these items have a very minimal cost if factored in from the begging? But what we got is a power point in the cupboard next to it, a Tap on the wall quite a distance away from the space which we are presuming we are having to connect to. As for the drain, the sink is twice as far away from the dishwasher than the tap is, and can't see anything for the dishwasher unless it is a pipe that sort of just out of the S bend. Either way we are going to have to get extensions for both water and drainage for it to work and have a feeling after spending the money it would of been cheaper to not have it and get a plumber to put it in professionally later and it probably would be a better job because of the distances involved for the connections. Edit: Oh and the tap is only a cold tap, don't now if it should have a hot as well, but we know the dishwasher we want only needs a cold tap at least. Ouch that price seems a bit over the top. In regards to the tap, yes just cold is the norm, most if not all dishwashers nowdays run off just the cold tap, so don't worry about that. As for the drain, yes it is normally just a little bit sticking out of the S bend of the sink.
