I would definitely go the light route as Suh suggests, maybe 1/2 strenth of what you have on the cupboards.By the time you get your olive oil and your utensils etc on the bench that should be all the colour you need Re: PLEASE HELP......... 8Jun 04, 2010 7:55 am Bromaco thanx guys for all your input, another thought hubby had was like a green.......an olive green maybe. what do you think? Yesterday at work, I saved your photo and mucked around with it in word and coloured in the area with olive greens and deep reds and they just looked wrong. The colours didn't go with the cupboards at all, if your cupboards were whiter I would say maybe yes, but I really think you need to keep within the tones you have. Just my opinion and I guess the cupboards may look different in the flesh. Re: PLEASE HELP......... 9Jun 04, 2010 9:12 am hi brooke, our kitchen colours are almost same as yours, cept our upper cabinets are the same colour as a stone bench tops (just a bit of drama, nothing special!) but we have only same colour as our cabinets on glass splash back. I didn't want another colour in an already two-toned kitchen, I never considered a colour, if I did, I may have considered the same colour as the benchtop, but that would have been it. I guess your other colours in the home may make a difference, but I'm always a fan of keeping the strong permanent building features in the home to some extent neutral (of course, not everyone lives by this rule!) You can accessorize with green and blues, whatever... A thankful person is a happy person. I really think that to introduce another colour would spoil this kitchen IMO Deemaree Kyndylan Capers: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=46852 My blog: http://www.sufficientlysufficient.blogspot.com/ Re: PLEASE HELP......... 11Jun 04, 2010 12:49 pm thanx............the other colours we have in the area are all browns....leather dark chocolate lounge, leather dark bar stools, and leather dark chocolate dining seats. thats why one of our colours are dark brown. I can see where the thinking is coming from-but if you ever change furniture or decide to sell you are stuck with a brown splashback. Much easier to stick with the neutral tones and add colour through accessories as has already been said. However, it is your kitchen-and you have to decide what you want! A friend actually has a stone splashback which looks fantastic - dunno how the cost compares against glass though. If you can't match the benchtop, I would suggest matching the cupboard colour. I agree with everyone else so far, a third colour would detract from your beautiful kitchen rather than enhance. Re: PLEASE HELP......... 14Jun 04, 2010 1:07 pm thanx kylie......we have actually thought about getting the stone as the splashback.....then just thought it would cost too much but it is an option. thats when we thought the mirror would be good as it would reflest the stone. Re: PLEASE HELP......... 15Jun 04, 2010 2:05 pm Your kitchen is lovely! Very spacious and well planned! Your cashmere caesarstone is such a beautiful and dominant feature in the kitchen that anything bold (red, brown, olive splashback) that competes with this will just detract from an otherwise elegant and very pleasing to the eye kitchen. I would go by the less is more philosophy on this one. Another trick I use when undecided is to get a large colour swatch of any colour, stick it on my fridge (where i see it 100 times a day) and see if I tire of it quickly. Most of the time, I do (huge sigh of relief from my husband each time!) I also use this a lot with pictures from magazines for any 'style' or major piece of furniture I am considering buying. Last month I wanted a red kitchen. 100% confirmed. This week I am like, "What WAS I thinking?". The picture on the fridge was enough to satisfy my desire. You have a beautiful kitchen...even unfinished! I agree. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7157 i had the my concreters concrete right up to the fence. I have pits all along my path, so the water tends to drain away from the house and into the pits.
