Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 May 22, 2010 8:12 pm Hello, I have a tiled kitchen floor over Fibro sheeting which is over Masonite which is over high density chipboard. We recently suffered a flood in the kitchen courtesy of the dish washer. I have concerns for the flooring materials under the tiles. Can someone tell me if I should be considering replacing the flooring or will the floor be OK once dry. The leak was so bad the water was dripping through the floor, under the house. Re: Kitchen Flood 2May 25, 2010 8:50 pm I would say advise your insurance company of the event in case of future claims if the floor has issues, we did this once when we were in NZ after we had a rather big flood in the laundry, luckily nothing waspermently damaged, but if it was the insurance company had it on records so they knew we were not making it up and to make it easier to claim later (We had rung the insurance company to ask what the story was in case our hot water cyclinder went through the floor at a later date (In NZ they are inside rather than Outside like over here) If I was to win Lotto, I would build with a different builder, now to win lotto Yes it had a house on it. But Melbourne water only wanted something the original size of the existing house. We managed to fit a 45sq house on. 10 33602 Give Jonathan a call. Tell him you know me.
