Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 May 22, 2010 6:29 pm Looking at my kitchen reno layout and wondered about height of power points above bench tops and whether any regulations apply. Appreciate if someone can advise if these can be any height above or at least if there is a minimum distance from the bench top. Thanks barkly Re: Power points above bench top 2May 22, 2010 7:33 pm can't remember what it was with our builder. there was a standard height though. But we specified our own height which was slightly higher. Since we have a few items we sometimes charge on the bench top that have those power pack plugs we wanted to be able to fit them on to the plug. If the power point is too low they don't fit. We just put in our charge height specs during our builder selection appointment which was when w e did the electrical appointment. As you are a reno You could have them higher. You could just look in some display homes and see what height they are or are you hoping to make them very low? Re: Power points above bench top 3May 23, 2010 2:11 am GPO's are typically 300mm, 1050mm and 1550mm AFL. So 150mm above standard 900mm bench height. You can do what you like or what will suit your tiles though. This will be fine and also suit our tiles - thanks for that bit of info as well. Nice when it all knits properly. r barkly Building Standards; Getting It Right!
