Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 May 05, 2010 4:07 pm Hi all, I have 2 question so will break them down: 1. Bin Recess Where do you put your bin??? We cant believe we didnt think about this?!?!?!? What did you do and how much did it cost? We would rather not put it somewhere in the floor...will make it all look messy...and def not in the pantry coz dont want it to smell!!! 2. Cupboards about fridge... I'm just over 5 foot tall and hence there is no way I can reach the cupboards above the fridge if we decided to get one put in...But without it, the kitchen looks empty because we are having overhead cupboards everywhere else...any ideas??? What else can we do with that area??? Maybe a shelf for some display items??? I'm really running out of ideas! Appreciate your ideas... PS: Prestart is tomoroow..... Has link to a catalogue with a whole range of them which are pretty nifty. Can't help with the fridge thing. I am 6 foot six so love the high cupboards, hate the low ones (getting big drawers instead for them). A display shelf would look a bit strange if it is the only one in the kitchen. Maybe just put cupboards in anyway and put stuff in there you very rarely use. Building tip No. 3: A raft slab will not get you down a river. A waffle pod slab does not go with maple syrup. I personally am not big on display items in the kitchen Re: Bin recess and Cupboards above Fridge 4May 05, 2010 4:29 pm We also have bins integrated in the cupboard & have cupboards above the fridge that DH who is 6 foot 3 keeps his spare beer in. I also keep things that DH & DS use that I don't in the higher shelves of the other cupboards. As for the space above the fridge you could turn that into your cupboard for your medicines (up high so kids cant reach them, if you have any) or else you could have it as a wine rack....built in on diaganals (hope that makes sence).
