Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Apr 30, 2010 8:21 pm Hi Just wondering if anyone has a bin that hold both rubbish and recycling that is in the cupboard and swings out or in a large drawer. I want something that will hold a decent size bin and has easy access. Have seen some twin cupboard ones (at Bunnings but can't think of the brand) but they are very small. TIA Donna Re: Kitchen Bin- anyone have one built in a cupboard/drawer 2Apr 30, 2010 8:36 pm Yep, I have one ... it's really my night tonight ... the kitchen guys built it in as a drawer with two bins, they could have used bigger bins but I figure if they were I wouldn't empty them as much = smell Re: Kitchen Bin- anyone have one built in a cupboard/drawer 3Apr 30, 2010 9:22 pm I am getting the Lincoln RP906 pg 19 under the sink in a blum tandembox drawer. http://www.lincolnsentry.com.au/Files/H%20-%20Kitchen%20Accessories.pdf There are lots of others in the pdf as well. Michelle Re: Kitchen Bin- anyone have one built in a cupboard/drawer 6May 01, 2010 7:44 am We have the 2 drawer Kimberley one from Bunnings - the bins seem to be more than adequate (though I suppose I don't buy much with packaging and veggie scraps go to the worms - so we don't actually have much waste) After 4 years - we're in! Re: Kitchen Bin- anyone have one built in a cupboard/drawer 7May 01, 2010 8:46 am I have the hafele double bin ... EVERYONE loves my bin (tis quite funny!!) ... I've got two big bins in a pull out draw (draw is full height of bench) ... they are big enough to take nearly a week's worth of my rubbish (I live alone) ... hated the thought of the tiny ones that had to be taken out multiple times a week (my wheelie bin is about 100m from the house tho!). Having it straight under the bench means I can just wipe the rubbish off the bench into the bin. They are easy to take out, have good handles on them to make it easy to carry the recycling down to the bin. http://furniture.pricegrabber.com/kitch ... 16851.html Re: Kitchen Bin- anyone have one built in a cupboard/drawer 8May 01, 2010 8:30 pm Re: Kitchen Bin- anyone have one built in a cupboard/drawer 9May 02, 2010 8:37 pm Thanks for the other suggestions. Michelle haven't actually picked out the exact one I want- but now I know there is actually something out there that I was thinking I can look into it further. No doubt I will spend a couple of weeks deciding over a bin LOL Re: Kitchen Bin- anyone have one built in a cupboard/drawer 10May 03, 2010 9:05 am Have a look here. http://www.hideawaybins.com.au/products ... close.aspx We got the soft close with recycle bin. They are very expensive but German made and guarranteed for 7 years or so. You can tell when you see them that they are made to the highest quality and very strong. Re: Kitchen Bin- anyone have one built in a cupboard/drawer 11May 04, 2010 8:08 am We currently have one in a drawer on the other side of our kitchen away from our bench. It has two bins in it. One for rubbish and one for recycling. We just use normal shopping bags for the bin liners so we didn't want a bin that was too big for those. Our recycling bin has a permanent liner in it so that we can just lift out the whole bin to dump into our recycling bin. Our next place will have a similar bin but under the bench so that we can just scrape scraps into it from the bench, just as Lucy said. We are trying to get our cabinet maker to have them placed as high as possible so that we don't have too much fall for the scraps. The issue he has is that if you put the bin too high you can't actually lift the whole bin out. Apparently the hideaway bins in the link above allow for high mounting. The new bins will have two bins side by side, one for rubbish and one for compost (food scraps etc.). Under these we will have another drawer with a liner that can be used for recycling. We still haven't convinced the cabinet maker that this is possible yet though. I also wanted the bin to be high up to avoid getting mess on the inside of the door.
