My stove top has burnt marks from the flame on the stainless steel and i have tried a few different chemicals to remove them but at this stage they are not coming off. Not 100% sure if this will work for your problem, but I know it works for grease stains. Sprikle your stove top with Bicarb Soda, then pour some white vinegar over this. It will react together and start to bubble. While it is bubbling, use some kind of scourer to scrub. I have used this for stove tops and the outside of stainless steel frying pans and saucepans with success. Tony Building Standards; Getting It Right!
