Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Apr 09, 2010 2:54 pm I am really loving Caesarstone "Nougat", the greys are just right and I really want it BUT......it is kinda (really!!) out of budget. So I am looking for a laminate that is similar in looks. Anyone have any suggestions? We wont be getting diamondgloss simply because we have many young children Here is a pic of my colour selections as I really want them. I really like the look of this kitchen: http://huntercustombuildingservices.com ... fullsize=1, makes me feel calm, well as calm as a mother of 4 can be during school holidays . So any suggestions on similar laminates? Ta, Hayley. Re: Caesarstone nougat - Laminate Similar? 2Apr 09, 2010 11:20 pm Hi there... Loving the colours you have chosen we're into the greys and whites too - I really wanted the nougat also - but DH wanted darker bench tops so we ended up with Urban Caesarstone instead. Looking at the Laminex website there are a couple of colours you might like: Bianco Quartz has the similar size stones in it - but to me it looks more brown than grey on my monitor Concrete Quartz again has the similar stones in it - the base colour looks a darker grey than the nougat Pure Mineralstone I thought looked nice too; and the last one that I thought, it's a bit different to nougat but the colours may suite is Sea Salt (although this one looks more like Caesarstones Ice Snow) Hope those few give you a few choices?! I like them a lot! Good luck with your colours - would be interested to see what you chose! Sleven Moved into our Atlantique MkII 36 by Carlisle Homes Re: Caesarstone nougat - Laminate Similar? 3Apr 10, 2010 8:35 am There is a thread somewhere with Pure Mineralstone, but in Diamond gloss, and I think it looks pretty similar. (Well it looks nice as well and would go with your colours!). We are getting this in our laundry, I dont have any pictures otherwise I would post some for you! I really love your colours, I love grey pebble. I wanted to do my walls in that but my partner didnt want to unfortunately, it was too dark for him Re: Caesarstone nougat - Laminate Similar? 4Apr 10, 2010 11:08 am Thank you Sleven and Ms Builder, I appreciate your help (and compliments on colours:)) I will look at those colours now My DH thinks grey pebble is a little dark in our hallway so we will probably do 1/2 strength in a few places, the back room receives a lot of natural light so the colour actually looks quiet light. Re: Caesarstone nougat - Laminate Similar? 5Apr 10, 2010 11:27 am My tip is to get a sample pot of 1/2 strength and try that before deciding on it. We were lucky we got a sample of clay pipe 1/4, it was similar and in the book near grey pebble but was way too beige in 1/4 strength. I really wish I stood my ground and stood firm on grey pebble. Now we have lexicon and im not entirely happy with it but im waiting until everything else goes in before I make up my mind first. I will enquire to find out more, I think Concrete Quartz looks nice. Yes I will get a sample first to confirm the colour choice, I have lived with yellow/pink/blue walls for so long I can't wait to have a simple grey I hope that you love your colour choice once it all comes together! Re: Caesarstone nougat - Laminate Similar? 8Apr 13, 2010 8:48 am I went to the kitchen shop yesterday, with all my kids Caesarstone Nougat Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Wouldnt you know it, Pure Mineralstone DG is just perfect.....BUT with 4 young children just not practical. That you can possibly see every single scratch puts me off. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We are leaning towards Cotton Craft atm but I need to go into the local Laminex store so see larger samples. Plus I am not sure on the edges avaiable for Cotton Craft where as New Ash Dust is avaiable in Squareform, which is what we would want. Re: Caesarstone nougat - Laminate Similar? 9Apr 13, 2010 2:17 pm Hi Robbo, Glad you found something you liked. Not trying to sway you at all but quite a few people do have the Pure Mineralstone in DG, I'm sure with kids. Have you had a read of those threads? Or maybe start a new one asking for feedback? I *think* you have young kids , just ban them from the kitchen! Bel Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Caesarstone nougat - Laminate Similar? 10Apr 13, 2010 3:30 pm LOL Bel - I wish I could ban them from the kitchen but they are the most insatiable creatures when it come to food. When I spoke to the kitchen guy he said DG is harder than regular laminate - tougher - but that all scratches are more visible, which is my concern. i will look for threads and show DH. I plan on dragging DH to the laminex shop without the kids, hopefully next weekend (must check if they are open), to see what he thinks. He doesn't want the gloss, he says he would rather a matt finish. In the end I have lived with a timber veneer kitchen - matching bench tops and doors - for the last 10 years.....not to mention the original brick wallpaper, pink kicks and brass handles...........ANYTHING will be an improvement. Re: Caesarstone nougat - Laminate Similar? 11Apr 13, 2010 4:30 pm robbo, I'm having a Pure Mineral stone DG bench installed next week so will try to post a pic then.. DG is particularly scratch resistant...and the lighter colours are better than the darker colours apparently. We put DG starlight ( almost black) in my son's kitchen reno unit last year and shows no signs of scratching. If you search for diamond gloss on this site you will find quite a lot of comment from those who have it ( I did this!!) and some good pics too. I had a thread and some people put in pics.. viewtopic.php?f=16&t=31655&p=442039&hilit=pure+mineral+stone+diamond+gloss#p442039 Here is someone's I found as well Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair At a bit of a loss on this one - we're thinking the original owners never removed the protective laminate covers from their kitchen cabinets after installation and in the… 0 6337 We are doing heaps of hybrid at the moment and the cost sits between $60-65/sqm including installation.
