Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Apr 07, 2010 12:29 pm It's raining, therefore I have time to plan a bit around our new kitchen. I think that all usual kitchen sinks are too small (try to wash the stuff of your fridge or a wok there) and there is not enough draining space. The sink problem could be solved in simply by buying two laundry sinks at Bunnings. Or can I get these old fashioned white sinks somewhere I think they were made out of concrete? But the problem with both is the draining space. Most benchtop materials do not like to be constantly wet. We are planning a bit on a budget and the whole kitchen, without appliances should be around $7000, that means I do not want to spend a thousand dollars on the sink alone. Re: Kitchen sink which is big enough 2Apr 07, 2010 1:00 pm In my current home, I have a sink that has 2 large bowls and drainers either side. It probably takes up about 1400mm and I have no idea how much they cost these days but I'll be getting the same again that is for sure. Re: Kitchen sink which is big enough 3Apr 07, 2010 1:11 pm You can get different bowl sizes, which also vary between manufacturers. I wouldnt rule out the possibility of a large normal sink over laundry sinks Custom European Cabinets - Melbourne Kitchen Specialist PM for business details as website currently being updated! Our Crazy Owner Builder Journey! Re: Kitchen sink which is big enough 4Apr 07, 2010 4:00 pm we have an oliveri monet MO753 going into our kitchen. It has two large bowls and large drainers on either end. It's not as big or deep as the old fashioned white trough style ones, but it was the biggest that we could find available that still looks modern and beautiful (and has drainers on both sides). We're not in our house yet (still under construction), but we do a lot of asian cooking (we are installing a commercial wok burner alongside the standard 900mm cooktop - and it takes a LARGE wok or steamer!!). We are pretty confident that our sink will suit our situation really well.
