Most companies have quoted me the 18mm doors except one (which is 25mm) - I didn't ask for it. Maybe I should just ask them for the 18mm? Re: Thickness of 2 pak doors - 18mm or 25mm? 6Apr 02, 2010 8:48 pm borg go 18mm. 25mm are wrong they will be to heavy and your doors will sag. without being offensive to the reply ,rubbish ,modern day hinges of any quality will hold up to 15 kg of weight easily Re: Thickness of 2 pak doors - 18mm or 25mm? 7Apr 02, 2010 8:55 pm arms borg go 18mm. 25mm are wrong they will be to heavy and your doors will sag. without being offensive to the reply ,rubbish ,modern day hinges of any quality will hold up to 15 kg of weight easily I was waiting for a reply of such. It all comes down to the dimensions of the door. If you had a short but wide door that weighed the same as a tall but narrow door does this mean they will perform the same???? The case is no!!!! It not only a function of weight. Its not all about the weight. A well designed kitchen should last many years unfortunatley people only design kitchen to last a few years. Why put extra weight in doors if they dont add any benefit, you doors only need to sag a little for the lines not to match up neatly. Re: Thickness of 2 pak doors - 18mm or 25mm? 8Apr 02, 2010 10:10 pm SYD-YYZ Is there any advantage of either? Will your door be routed with a pattern? A 25mm thick door would be a better option if your door was to be routed and if the inner part of the doors was to be recessed routered. The thicker door will lessen the chance of the door bowing after it has been painted. For taller painted doors (i.e pantry doors) it is advisable to use a thicker substrate as they tend to bend or warp more readily once they have been painted. There will not be a pattern - just plain white kitchen. The correct name is melamine. Some cabinet makers use board that only have melimine of one side which can cause the doors to bow. in regards to two pack I find it best to use boards that have melamine on both side for the reasons you have described above. we have a standard size and often we have a lot of variety to choose 0 3577 We are looking for sliding doors which are 5 metres tall.
