I have noticed that the company has supplied raw mdf for the bulkheads along the top of the pantry to the ceiling. Call me ignorant, but I had assumed that the bulkheads would be the same colour as the cabinets (alaskan white.) I have left a message for the company, but is this normal? Are we supposed to paint them? If so, do we paint them the same white as the ceiling or the cabinets? Or do I just demand that they are replaced? Painting them is one method. After installing then you would get cornice install over them then painted. I painted mine the same color as the wall to give a continuous look. Bulkheads can be painted the same colour as the ceiling or since you are having cornices, the wall - you can even get the paint colour matched to your kitchen boards if you want...but if you really want the same finish as your boards then this should have been a specification from the start i.e. "Bulkheads in matching colour board as per schedule".
