Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Mar 03, 2010 9:36 pm Hi Guys .. Those of you having laminate cupboards in their kitchen .. can you please let me know if your joiner matched the lining (the area around the cupboard door/drawer on the top/sides) with the same color as the laminate? We chose "parchment" laminate, which is quite white-ish in colour .. but the lining the builder's joiner has used is cream in colour and doesn't match at all .. simple white would have been a better match .. Any experiences/photos would be great .. thanks! --- I don't have a signature - just this sentence saying that I don't have one - that'll do! Re: Laminate kitchen cupboards - lining color? help ... 2Mar 03, 2010 10:12 pm I'm pretty sure ours are the same colour as the laminate cupboards. I'll have to check properly. Re: Laminate kitchen cupboards - lining color? help ... 3Mar 04, 2010 8:25 am Please do! .. This is freaking my wife out .. the colour really doesn't match and although once fixed you'll hardly see it from front-on .. but when you open any drawers etc, or from a side view.. it shows!! --- I don't have a signature - just this sentence saying that I don't have one - that'll do! Re: Laminate kitchen cupboards - lining color? help ... 4Mar 04, 2010 9:44 am If you are talking about the edge banding that is put on all cut to size melamine boards then it should be a very similar colour to the boards - Parchment has a matching edge tape that is virtually indistinguishable from the board. This definitely needs to be addressed - every board that is edged will need to be removed for re-edging; that includes end panels and infills. Cheers, Earl Re: Laminate kitchen cupboards - lining color? help ... 5Mar 05, 2010 2:20 am Just re-read the OP. Sounds like Strummer is right. If what you are saying is that the edging (either melamine or ABS) on the draw fronts and cupboard doors is different to the actual board colour then get it changed. The carcass itself (along with draws) will be white and edged in white, but any board should always be edged in matching colour.
