Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Feb 21, 2010 12:35 pm I've been hunting for ages for a bin that would fit a narrow cabinet with a hinged door, without success. There are lots of slide-out bins to choose from, but they seem to require a minimum width of 300mm and we only had 260mm. The kind that attach to the door also need a wider clearance, and I was getting frustrated and thinking we'd have to get a cabinet maker to do some modifications to our cupboard. But today I found this at Store: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The tub on the top shelf is just a cheap K Mart container, handy for cans and bottles and other stuff for recycling. Just thought I'd share, in case anyone else has the same issue. Re: Kitchen bins for narrow spaces 2Feb 21, 2010 7:48 pm What store did you find this is. I have just started thinking about kitchen and bin. What is ideal size cupboard to place a bin in and how much room to leave for bottom and top shelf. Does your bin slide out when door is opened or do you just pull it out. Cheers, toby. Re: Kitchen bins for narrow spaces 4Feb 22, 2010 2:04 pm Is 260mm the internal or external width? This one from ikea might fit as long as the door hignes are not in the way. It's only 250mm wide. Most systems I looked at needed 300-350mm. The other consideration is how much you want to spend. Some of these things cost a small fortune. If you want to see some options, have a look at the range Bunnings have on display. If one of those suits, you can pick one and make sure you have a cupboard made the right size to fit it. http://www.kimprod.com.au/waste.htm As for IKEA, unfortunately they had nothing suitable when I was looking - or if they did, it was never in stock and you can't order things. The Rationelle system looks good, but it's a pity that their locations suck. I can't just pop in to check if they have something when it takes me more than an hour to drive there. Thanks again for this information. If you do hear anything different, would be great to know 4 8256 dimensions on your original plan are inconsistent and with accurate dimensions (including site plan, upstairs and down) i could make a proper scale drawing with furniture… 3 7520 |
