Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Feb 17, 2010 4:05 pm Hi Guys, Im new to this forum and have been browsing the forum every now and again trying to get some ideas and pointers as we move along to finalsing our building contract. We've done all the External & Internal Selections. I have spoken to few select Kitchen Company and got some rough estimate cost of the stoneds base on our kitchen plan / drawing prior to making our kitchen appointment with the builder. So that I know what we should be looking at if we are to upgrade through our builder. MY partner and I wants to include Stone Benchtop ILOS Laminex. But the kitchen people our builder use is charging us an arm and a leg as an upgrade with all these other miscellaneous extra charges such as polishing etc. To my surprise, our builder kitchen people are charging us almost 100% more than what I was advised by the other kitchen company. Asked our builder if it is possible for us to supply the stones and have the builder kitchen people install for us and their response is simply, NO. If we want stones it's either we upgrade via builder or have it installed after handover. Has anyone here been in the same position as we are? If so, what did you guys do? Re: Stone Benchtop Installation 2Feb 25, 2010 6:44 pm Hi Eoh l am having the exact same problem so l'd love to hear what other people have done in this situation. We are planning on getting the laminex benchtops changed over after handover. l asked the builders if they can leave the benchtops unglued so we can change it without a problem after handover and there answer was a flat NO. l cant believe how unreasonable they can be. Handover date 3rd August 2010 WOOHOO!!! Hi Courtney The mitred edges are glued up with epoxy so those little holes and gaps are areas that weren't filled correctly. Silicone is the wrong product to fill them… 2 12910 I need to replace the worn mohair seal on my sliding window, but I can't get access to the end to slide the old one out & push the new one in. I could probably rip the old… 0 5167 Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6085 |
