Has anyone else see these? I think they are fairly new on the market. Seems like a sensible idea but I would be intrested to hear from others that have views on these.
My understanding is that a conventional microwave works by switching on and off for a few seconds at a time. If you put half power, it is on for half the time. If you want 75% power, then it is on for 75% of the time etc.
With inverters, the power is not switched on and off but the output level is varied. This gives a contineous cooking level rather than the heat and cool cycle. Not sure how they achieve this or why it wasn't done in the past.
