Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Aug 10, 2007 1:36 am Does anybody know a few makes of built in coffee machines? I dont think i left enough room to put in a coffee machine. Cavity space for fridge and cupboard for microwave and coffee machine is a total of 1500mm which i think is going to be tight. Fridge is just under 900mm leaving 600mm for coffee machine and spacing of the board. Re: Built in Coffee Machines 2Aug 10, 2007 8:17 am I know Meile do a really good built in coffee machine that fits into a 600mm cabinet.

(I'm not a coffee drinker - so it just seems a bit strange - is there advantages over the freestanding ones?) Re: Built in Coffee Machines 5Aug 10, 2007 12:27 pm Law18 My husband loves his coffee and I love no clutter. With a built in dont have to worry about having it on the bench. Spot on. Decent coffee machines take up valuable space on your benchtop and can look messy. Built in coffee machines can sit above an oven, microwave or steam oven. And they look great too. Re: Built in Coffee Machines 7Aug 10, 2007 2:57 pm Ahhh - I just don't understand this whole love of coffe thing then
Mind you - I'm going to either extend the garage, or build a cabana out the back of our place for storage of a golf cart Re: Built in Coffee Machines 8Aug 10, 2007 8:54 pm Adrian B Just make sure that the steam wont affect the wall above of the paint job. What do you mean by this. What wall. The coffee machines are put into cabinets generally above and oven or microwave so there would usually be doors above. If the doors are painted in polyurethane there is no problem what so ever. I have seen some display homes where you can see the paint and plaster has not been sealed properly, and it is starting to bubble due to excess moisture. These were mounted into a plaster lined 'hole', not a cupboard with a poly surround. I would never mount a coffee machine in a plasterboard wall. Your just asking for problems. Some tradesmen just dont think. Re: Built in Coffee Machines 12Aug 12, 2007 5:17 pm thanks for the tips guys. Not something I really thought about (the whole steam thing) that would have just ruined the whole coffee experience and I wont have let the hubby use the coffee machine if he was ruining the cupboards or paint.
The other reason for a good coffee machine is it will save us money in the long run as it will cut down the amount of coffees bought for $5 a mug Re: Built in Coffee Machines 14Aug 26, 2007 8:33 pm eimaj
if it breaks down just the same if a built in oven breaks down i suppose fix it or replace it Re: Built in Coffee Machines 15Aug 29, 2007 7:11 am eimaj What happens if something breaks down in a built-in one? Would it be a hassle to fix, or remove it? Eimaj No problems at all. As said its the same as a built in oven. Remove 2 screws and pull it out to have it repaired. Easy Re: Built in Coffee Machines 17Aug 31, 2007 12:19 pm Sallyho technika also do built in coffee machines, look pretty good as well just not sure on price. $2999 rrp... $2500 if you look around!
