Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Feb 08, 2010 11:21 am I am getting a new kitchen and am trying to decide what colour bench top and splash back, at the moment we are getting white high gloss cabinets and a white bench top (not yet decided which) with a brown splashback (not yet chosen), I have read that someone has a metallic brown splashback - does anyone have any suggestions for brown splash backs or photos, or maybe what stone bench tops suit brown? Thanks in advance! Re: bench top and splashback colours 4Feb 08, 2010 3:29 pm Everytime I see your kitchen suh it makes me think of changing my cupboards to all white. Arrrgggg I hate picking colours! Re: bench top and splashback colours 7Feb 08, 2010 3:39 pm Ms Builder Everytime I see your kitchen suh it makes me think of changing my cupboards to all white. Arrrgggg I hate picking colours! Same, I love that kitchen so much and love the dark splashback. Re: bench top and splashback colours 8Feb 08, 2010 3:43 pm suh Ms Builder Everytime I see your kitchen suh it makes me think of changing my cupboards to all white. Arrrgggg I hate picking colours! sorry what colour are you doing At this stage a dark grey 2pak finish (Dulux Monk) Whitish benchtop (waiting on prices back on whats an upgrade - I would love QQ Starlight White but if not I think I will go ES Basmati as you suggested) Metallic silver splashback Overheads are obscured glass with under cupboard lights - but am thinking of making this either 2pak white or the painted glass white like your daughter's... We are greys and whites so I couldnt have your lovely rich colour for a splashback but it always makes me think maybe the white cupboards, basmati bench and the dark grey splash... I have heard it is hard to do 2pak in dark colours (dont know the truth of that though) so if the cabinet maker tells me, it might make it an easy decision. Does anyone know if you can turn any dulux paint metallic? Re: bench top and splashback colours 9Feb 08, 2010 3:52 pm Ok, my daughter has a hair salon and in that salon she has a kitchen and a wash basin area that's like another gorgeous kitchen ...anyhoo she has a dark metallic charcoal glass splashback in both, but in the wash area she has extended the glass splashback onto the benchtop, it's damn hot but us having glass benchtops would be ridiculous, but the metallic charcoal is AMAZING!!!!! Re: bench top and splashback colours 10Feb 09, 2010 11:09 am Aw your making it harder... We need to pick tiles by 1st march. Tiles are hinging on benchtops which im waiting to see if any of my choices are going to be upgrades. So benchtop going to be white of some sort. Im now thinking a mid grey polished porcelain floor tile, white 2pak lower cabinets, metallic monk splashback, glass overheads. Looks good in my head. I think we need to visit every single display home we can get to between now and then to help decide, arg, did I mention I hate colours! This sounds good to me Re: bench top and splashback colours 13Jul 28, 2010 1:43 pm I am now even more confused, we still don't have our kitchen in but we have selected white gloss for the cupboards, white shimmer ceasarstone and blackbutt floors, i now think I want to put a splash of colour in the kitchen, however I do not want it to be too dark, the only light in the kitchen is from a skylight (the kitchen is in the middle of the house - we live in a middle terrace hence lack of light...) does anyone have a blue splashback - i am looking for something royal blue - bright not too bright but not too light and not too dark...
