Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jan 26, 2010 2:50 am Looking for opinions on the need for kickboards on an island bench which is set out from an L-shaped kitchen onto living room. The L-shape will have standard kickboards but what is a good choice for the island? I have seen: kickboards all the way around the island (so it "floats") kickboards on the inside and front but panels to the floor on the short sides so it kind of frames the island kickboards on the inside but panels to the floor on the short sides and the front I like the look of panels to the floor on sides and front, but we are not having stone waterfalls edges so I am concerned that the panels will get scuffed and battered (using 2-pac panels) In fact I am worried that when we use the island as a breakfast bar then whole panel will get clobbered... anyone with experience to share Re: Do I need kickboards on my island? 2Jan 26, 2010 8:10 am I like the panels all the way to the floor on the side and front, I have also noticed my front is getting clobbered by chairs and have touch-up paint on hand ready.
