Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jun 15, 2011 5:40 pm Hi guys! OK, I have been sending myself nuts going round and round in circles....I am "sure" that I read an old thread here the other day that was giving recommendations of what was the best brands for kitchen sinks and mixers.......but do you think I can find it? lol If anyone can point me in the direction of the thread or if you can give me recommendations here, then I would be so grateful! I am 'pretty sure' it was Oliveri for the sink........but I want to be sure! Thanks so much! Terrence Malick Re: Sink and mixer tap 4Jun 18, 2011 3:53 pm OK, have decided on a Solitaire single round sink Very excited Now looking at taps...... I came across this tap that I loved the look of, but not really sure about the Phoenix brand.......haven't heard of them much and they are quite expensive! http://www.phoenixtapware.com.au/module ... _MIXER_160 Anyone had any experience with that brand? Cheers, Louise Re: Sink and mixer tap 5Jun 18, 2011 7:44 pm phoenix are fine. a builder i work for has been using their gear for yrs and had no problems Re: Sink and mixer tap 6Jun 18, 2011 9:20 pm Hi Melodie, I have just had phoenix brand mixers installed in my bathroom renovation & they seem good quality but it is only early days. From what I have been told I think they are a good brand of tapware. Re: Sink and mixer tap 9Jun 20, 2011 3:50 pm Would you believe!!!! I find a tap that I LOVE.....and hubby lovesssss it also (we have been liking very different things re the tap style).....I contact the grohe supplier in brisbane, and this one isn't supplied in Australia!!!!! arghhhhhhhh Would love to find something similar......but don't like my chances! http://projects.grohe.com/p/25_79359.ht ... I love the idea of the gooseneck design, but a lot of them out there look flimsy and not as substantial. I just liked the fact that the grohe one looked nice and solid and streamlined with the handles etc......so frustrated as it seems perfect for what I am after! Re: Sink and mixer tap 12Jun 25, 2011 11:17 pm Well, I think we have found one that we both agree on........not a cheap mixer AT ALL......but still one we are both really liking.... http://www.phoenixtapware.com.au/module ... NK%20MIXER It has a filter system as well as a normal mixer..... Re: Sink and mixer tap 13Jun 26, 2011 5:29 pm thats the one i got a pcture of from reece plumbing. was a couple of other ones the same from brands like Scala and Nobili Re: Sink and mixer tap 14Jun 28, 2011 4:45 pm Melodie OK, this is probably a realllly dumb question, but I have to ask it......what is the difference between Grohe and Hansgrohe? or are they the same or from the same company? and are they the same quality? Both are German brands, Hansgrohe is the more expensive brand. Both are good, I have Hansgrohe taps in my bathrooms. Re: Sink and mixer tap 15Jun 28, 2011 4:50 pm Louise, you wrote that you have chosen a single round sink for the kitchen. Single round sinks are the least practical ones. Don't you sometimes clean an oven tray in your sink? The depth of the sink must be adequate as well. Re: Sink and mixer tap 16Jun 29, 2011 6:57 am Hi Evelin, yep, I was worried about that also.....but after seeing them in the shops I think that we will have more than enough room for washing up etc....we are also getting a dishwasher, so won't need the sink "as" much so to speak. I was quite shocked at how deep and wide the oliveri round sinks were. Much much bigger than my current sink which is half the width and half the height. Can't wait Re: Sink and mixer tap 17Jun 29, 2011 11:43 pm We opted for a Oliveri undermount double sink and a Methven mixer with veggie spray. The mixer has 15 years warranty and was on special at HN. We use the big sink to drain dishes and wash in the small one.
