There are sometimes screens down stream of the mixer in either the flexible hose or the base of the tap itself that prevent debris getting into the mixer, it could be this. First thing to check though is if the plumber turned the water back on fully out at the meter. Also, the pressure is the same for the hot and the cold supply. It's not really a problem I guess...I just wondered why it had changed and if it had something to do with that 'tee' connection'?
