Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jan 10, 2010 4:01 pm Hi there, Seems like some companies have 1mm edging and some have 2mm edging on their melamne / laminate doors. Does it make much difference in quality or looks? Should it influence which company I decide to use? Thanks Re: Pros and Cons - 1mm vs 2mm edging on melamine/laminate doors 2Jan 10, 2010 4:18 pm Hi little buddy, The supplier we went with only offered a 1mm PVC edge strip with the gloss white we chose, however, all the other colours came with a 2mm PVC edge strip. At the end of the day, I suppose a 2mm edge would be more durable; but really, it's just the edge of the door and unless you plan to be using your Kitchen cupboards like some sort of an amusement park, there shouldn't be any problem hehehe Also, I haven't noticed any issues with the edge strip and moister - that is, the doors beneath the sink do get wet sometimes if I'm splashing about with the dishes... but thus far everything stood up to the test!. Good luck!!
