Browse Forums Kitchen Corner Re: Cost of Diamond Gloss 3Dec 20, 2009 7:49 pm Depends on your builder. I think ours was about $220 to upgrade. Re: Cost of Diamond Gloss 4Dec 21, 2009 9:39 am Hi, we paid $660 to upgrade from Polyrey square edging (quite a cheap option, not as good as laminex), to laminex Diamond Gloss with the nice wide Acrylic edging. Sounds a lot, but we have a very big kitchen with around 10m of benchtops. When we went to prestrat, the builder had a sample of the exact colour (pure mineral stone) with the acrylic edging, and it looked fantastic. So we were happy to pay th $660 upgrade. And like i said, that was upgrading from a very cheapo benchtop, not from laminex. So it may be less if you have laminex as standard, and are just upgrading to the Diamond Gloss. Hi, are you able to explain a little more about what you mean by acrylic edging? I'm a bit confused My benchtop (which should be going on sometime this week! ) is toffee mineralstone diamond gloss, with a 10mm postform edge. How different are the two and in what way? Re: Cost of Diamond Gloss 6Dec 21, 2009 3:59 pm Diamond Gloss edgeing NB. It comes in 43mm width. INSIST your kitchen has 43mm edge - not trimmed down http://www.laminex.com.au/resource/pdf/ ... ochure.pdf Re: Cost of Diamond Gloss 7Dec 21, 2009 6:21 pm So confused I'm guessing we're not talking the angle of edge here. The laminex showroom displays the diamond gloss as coming in 8mm postform but the kitchen company could only do 10mm. Right or wrong, I went with it anyway because it's only 2mm difference in how square my edges are. Re: Cost of Diamond Gloss 8Dec 22, 2009 8:21 am Hi Katie 81. When we went to the Laminex showroom in Perth, the salesman showed us the 2 types of edging. 1. Postform (8mm give or take), which is where the diamond gloss is one piece of laminate for the top and edges. 2. Acrylic, the bench top is one piece of laminate, and the edges are a seperate straight edge. The laminex edging brochure posted above has a good picture of the acryclic edging. I like the acrylic edge as it gives the bench top a chunky look. Re: Cost of Diamond Gloss 9Dec 22, 2009 11:29 am Thanks alexjohn I went to the showroom too but never spoke to anyone, just looked at their edging samples stuck on the wall I've seen my benchtop and I'm happy with it, phew! Hopefully it will be attached to the cabinets this afternoon If you happen to have any photos of your acrylic edging, I would be very interested to see! Whoops, just realised you said the brochure has a pic Real life pics are always appreciated though Re: Cost of Diamond Gloss 11Dec 26, 2009 1:49 pm Here are some close-up pics I took of the Diamondgloss acrylic edging at the Laminex showroom. I paid $500 extra for the Diamondgloss with acrylic edging, but when my builder installed my benchtops, they forgot about the edging So I've made my builder rip out the benchtops and do it again! I'm happy with mine, and I have to be, if I sit here wishing I had done this or done that, I wouldn't ever be satisfied! I admit the acrylic edge looks nicer than the postform, but lucky for me (in a warped kinda way) that I just couldn't afford the extra $500 for that I'm glad I didn't even know about it until it was too late Hi, planning on using the attached stone pieces in my bathroom. I want to remove stains and gloss seal. Can I get some advice on best way to remove stains and best… 0 6711 This link might answer your question.
