Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Dec 13, 2009 2:32 pm Does anyone know if I can change the veneer on laminex. We moved into a house with peach laminex/formica cupboards and benchtops. I like the layout just the colour makes me cringe. Re: Can I re-veneer laminex? 2Dec 13, 2009 6:54 pm Hi Lucy Probably would have to get new bench tops and doors made. Not that expensive. And relaminate any end parts of cabinets to match. Not sure if you can re laminate bench tops. I vaguely remember years ago ex hubby use to do that but i may be wrong. If they re active the glue you may get lucky. Think you use a hot iron. But dont hold me to it. Was a long time ago. Re: Can I re-veneer laminex? 4Dec 14, 2009 2:55 pm Yep, you can get a benchtop re-laminated over the top. We had it done on a couple of properties. What is even cheaper though, and seems very hard wearing (in the 2 mths since we did it!) is to have to re-surfaced: http://www.aircoataustralia.com.au/index.htm These guys did a great job for us and 4m x 600mm benchtop + 2.4m of 900mm island came in at less than $1200. 2 8359 can’t tell from the photo, a tie down rod will be 12mm, is it a steel beam? he should be able to work it out 1 4465 5 10488 |
