Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Need a kitchen drawn up? 62Jan 11, 2010 10:09 am losonogo Hi aaron4erin A point to be wary off is the width of the island bench. A slab is manufactured 1400mm wide as opposed to your 1500mm wide option. It will save you some pennies if you kept to 1400mm as its going to take an extra slab to make your bench wider. Hope this helps Losonogo How good are you at adding a cooktop and a range hood over the island? Love being able to visualise it now... Would it be possible to update the base units according to this plan, except leave the breakfast bar as you have it now? I'd also like some overhead cupboards, do you think normal cupboards or the pull up hinge style ones would look best? I'm undecided on horizonatal or vertical lines !! Thank you so much, this is my favourite thread on homeone, I love seeing the drawings come to life! http://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy251/leeniiloo/House/NewKitchenSmall.jpg Recently moved to a 60's home in need of some improvement! http://s797.photobucket.com/user/leenii ... ch%20House Old house: http://s797.photobucket.com/albums/yy25 ... loo/House/ Re: Need a kitchen drawn up? 72Jan 12, 2010 11:51 pm Hi Losonogo, Although we have decided on our plan, if you have the time I would really love to see a 3D version of our kitchen with a bit more detail. You will see in my attachments, a 3D picture has been included but it doesn't have the detail that your plans have. You will find all the information in the document "schedule summary". This has a lot more detail than the actual plans & include details of the handles, benchtops, etc. We are going with a glass splashback behind the rangehood (full length) and also under the window. The splashback will also run around the window to a height of 400mm from the top of the benchtops. Although not 100% decided, I think we will go with the metallic java gloss for the splashback. I hope this all makes sense but please contact me if you have any questions. Thanks. Troy. I then realised it was the distance between the bench and hallway. i measured it using the virtual tape measure and it comes around the 1000mm mark. Here are some pics below with a different sink orientation. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Between the sink and dishwasher is a 3 drawer unit - great option for cutlery and crockery storage plus quick and easy access from dishwasher. Walkthrough your own kitchen practices to work out which would feel more natural This is the kitchen configuration i would personally prefer; fridge near the pantry - pet habit:) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hello again losonogo When you get some time, would you be able to adjust my kitchen? I would like the fridge on the left hand side, but would it be possible to have it flush with the wall (depth-wise). Maybe just move the fridge a bit forward or something. Although we currently have that kind of a fridge, we might in the future decide to go for a double. Would it be possible to make the fridge gap big enough for a double door fridge, but then have the leftover from the single door fridge converted into a cupboard? Could you please change the pantry door (the middle one) flush with the wall, so it looks like a part of the kitchen, I think we have way too many doors there and I'm scared of it looking odd Also, would you be able to add the bulkhead/dropped ceiling above the whole kitchen (cupboards + island)? So sorry to bother you again Hope you dont mind too much. Thanks in advance Re: Need a kitchen drawn up? 75Jan 13, 2010 9:59 pm Thank you so much, losonogo!! These look great. Just letting you know that I loooove your work - it's absolutely brilliant!!! Just wondering if it's not too much trouble, if you could please have a look at my kitchen and draw something up. I'm having trouble picturing it and would love to see it come to life!!! The kitchen is one of my most fav parts of the house so I want to get it right. Some small details from the plan are: oven will be placed under cooktop, microwave will be placed under the bench on the island and we have asked our builder to include a cabinet over the fridge. We also have in our prelim contract 1 set of 4 utensil drawers, 2 sets of 3 drawers and 1 set of 2 pot drawers. I may need to change all that so I will see what you come up with! Thanks sooooo much - you're a gem!!! http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz237/nandn02/Home/FLOOR-1.jpg Re: Need a kitchen drawn up? 79Jan 14, 2010 9:50 pm Hi losonogo, if you have the time, can you please advise on our kitchen layout as I think I have chosen a rather unusual layout? Most pictures of kitchens like ours have the sink and cooktop opposite to each other. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We have since swapped the kitchen bench layout to the IKEA layout attached.
