I was wondering if you would mind drawing up my future kitchen. We are only at early stages now but I have just started wondering if this is the best use of space. There will be only limited overhead cupboards I think (I have no objections to them, its just the way this design has worked out). I wouldve loved a 900mm stove and oven but I dont think it will fit the way this has been designed. There will be a dishwasher in the island bench and the bench will have the lip to put bar stools under (not sure what the name of that is!) Would love to hear any suggestions on how to improve it. Not sure of colours yet, am thinking mostly white with darkish wooden floors. I love my walk in pantry but I have a feeling you will tell me to change it! Thanks in advance. here is the pic (hope it works!) http://i858.photobucket.com/albums/ab14 ... 09-001.jpg Re: Need a kitchen drawn up? 27Dec 19, 2009 7:17 pm Hi Losonogo,
Oh I would LOVE to see my future kitchen if you get time that is. We don't really want to change the setup of it. You can see on the plans the dishwasher and also (what they've forgotten) is a microwave recess with drawer under. Probably wood flooring, light bench tops with darker cupboards. Oven and stovetop are 900mm and fridge recess is to be made 1100mm wide with a wall (possibly) between bench and fridge. Thanks Purple Butterfly ETA - I am concerned about lack of storage space, so any suggestions are welcome. ETAA - We have added a bank of drawers in the first section before the dishwasher, a micro recess with drawer under (not sure on position, probably after sink, and a built in bin (don't think this matter to your drawing though) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Need a kitchen drawn up? 28Dec 22, 2009 7:00 pm Hi Losonogo, I would looooove you to give me some advice on my kitchen layout..... (very generous of you to offer your time btw!) I am actually trying to work out a way to give me a bit more bench space. I have considered moving the rumpus store to allow for the laundry door there but am also considering changing the layout altogether but am unsure where to start. Not too sure whether you are able to do this but thought I would post anyway. We haven't finalised plans yet so want to get it right before we do!! My biggest priority in this house is STORAGE STORAGE STORAGE!! So the kitchen is important for that too. (Still need a breakfast bar though!) You did a pretty good work in drawing up those. Here are some color tone chart to spice thing up. Cheers. Happy New Year 2010 to all. Re: Need a kitchen drawn up? 31Dec 25, 2009 7:00 pm I'm a trained on the job kitchen designer actually:) However have a thing for interiors;) I used to work for a kitchen company however the boss was abusing industrial relation rules and not paying me properly so i quit. I now offer a service on here to keep my skills up till i decide where to go from here:) For my next trick... These pics below are for gettingthere I have drawn this kitchen from your plans upwards...literally! I will note however that the space between the island and the hall way door is quite narrow, i would query this with the builder. No less than 1200mm is best Enjoy Losonogo Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ If you need a kitchen drawn up, post it on this thread - gotta give me a couple of days though:) viewtopic.php?f=16&t=26892 Re: Need a kitchen drawn up? 32Dec 26, 2009 11:01 am You are too good losonogo!!! Thank you so much for those drawings!!! Re: the space between the island and the hall way door Are your drawings as per my plans or as per your recommendations? We are owner builders so will easily have that changed, thanks for the pickup ) Would you recommend for my double sink to go in the centre of the island or between the oven and hotplate (in a triangle shape)? Re: Need a kitchen drawn up? 33Dec 26, 2009 9:42 pm Hi gettingthere The modeling in drawn and extruded upwards from your plans As i was orbiting and zooming around the model i noticed a tightness in the design. I then realised it was the distance between the bench and hallway. i measured it using the virtual tape measure and it comes around the 1000mm mark. Here are some pics below with a different sink orientation. Thank you for providing such an awesome opportunity such as this, and this is especially close to my heart as the kitchen has been our main drama of the house plan. Please feel free to download the PDF from our blog (see signature). We want to keep the main benchtop free (hence the 'crowding' on the other side of the kitchen). We are allocated 1 x 600mm (set of three) pot drawers and the sink will be two full basins (as opposed to 1 3/4). I wanted a big corner (4 shelf) pantry, but we kind of had to substitute with the double pantry doored version due to space restrictions . We definitely want an UBO, Rangehood and stovetop (all 900mmm), but haven't really worked out where to put the microwave. You'll also notice the DW recess under the sink. We also want to build the wall shelving right up to roofline which will be 30c. We understand we may not be able to 'reach' stuff, but still it provides a lot of storage. We'd like to have a Bluegum coloured light flooring and would LOVE to have a black and white theme for the kitchen! Hope it's not too much of a headache to 'draw up' and I will be very happy for any advice you may wish to give Regards Ez Plastering 02/03/11 Roofframe 31/01/11 / Electrics, plumbing, gutters, downpipes 12/02/11 Bricks 10/01/11 / Pad 10/12/10 Retainingwalls 5/11/10 / Re-peg 14/10/10 Bldlic appvd 10/09/10 / Plansappvd 12/07/10 Bldcontract signed 19/02/10 / Landsettlement 25/01/10 BlockUOffer July 09 Forum: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=27512 Re: Need a kitchen drawn up? 36Dec 28, 2009 11:01 am Losonogo, can you please advise what the usual sizing would be for a microwave space and a set of cutlery drawers. If the aim is to keep the butlers pantry then you actually have a sensible design If not then the idea below gives an example of how much space you gain when using a conventional pantry. You could also gain extra working space which is important in a smaller sized kitchen. Thank you so much! I have been looking forward to this, you have made my week!! Definitely food for thought.. might have a look at some houses and compare sizes just to see if I could live with such a small kitchen for the sake of the butlers pantry...
