Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jul 13, 2007 9:46 pm In my present kitchen we have a 30 cm high kimberley twin bin for rubbish and recyclables to be sorted.. great stuff... but it has had 2 major drawbacks..
the top cracked slightly (due tosomeone stuffing a tall bottle in the recycling container and forcing the door shut..) the other disadvantage is difficult access to clean the 'lid"undersurface which is actually a fixed frame. We separate out the 'biodegradables' and compost it.. only the packaging materials go into the bin. It would be handy to have the recycling option too. I was wondering something that opens up without 'touching' would be really good. The sink is gonna be 1&3/4clarke sink..(provided by builder& also a 900 mm wide cupboard) I would like to know what would be a good option.. just wondering in case the cabinetry needs to be modified. we are close to contract signing. vp Re: Any suggestions for kitchen bins? 4Jul 17, 2007 1:14 pm I want to turn a cupboard into a pull out drawer, is this possible?

Re: Any suggestions for kitchen bins? 5Jul 17, 2007 1:51 pm Matt,
Kimberly Products has a door mounted single and twin bin. You screw the frame to the kitchen cabinet and attach the door to the bin bracket. http://www.kimprod.com.au/waste.htm Re: Any suggestions for kitchen bins? 8Jul 17, 2007 7:24 pm I have the kimberly one at present minus the door bracket... the lid doesnt come off for cleaning and tends to get quite mucky.. I am hence going with the lidless option.. hoping it'll work! matt's picture no 1 will be the best but I think its American... also if you are converting existing kitchen door you'll need to consider the door handle posn appropriately.. Re: Any suggestions for kitchen bins? 9Jul 17, 2007 7:51 pm I prefer a smaller bin. The bins above are huge.
The bins below take a shopping bag perfectly and have one bin behind the other. I usually fit two of these one above the other. This gives you 4 bins if your into recycling which most people are these days. They can either be behind a door or drawer style. The best bit is they are cheap. I've seen some great pullout bins by Halo which I think is a brand of Hafelle (or some similar sounding company). I've seen some great pullout bins by Halo which I think is a brand of Hafelle (or some similar sounding company). So you didnt read my post fully. I said that it can be mounted behind a door in done drawer style. So people dont like to see two large drawers and prefer to put it behind a door. Good thing about these bins is that it allows you to do both and also to have 4 bins in the one cabinet. Great for recycling. I like this bins too, but we were at Bunnings today and I've try to imagine how this bins can be attached to the drawer.
