Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Nov 26, 2009 1:32 am I've read a lot of comments on here about people having issues with vinyl wrap doors bubbling/peeling in the kitchen, so am considering upgrading to 2-pack doors in our kitchen, but I don't want the high gloss finish, because I have 2 young kids who will smear everything everywhere, and when I saw a sample of the matt finish, it felt really rough and looked as though it would be difficult to clean. I've since heard there might be a satin finish in 2 pack? Is this correct? If so, what do people think about it from an aesthetics and functionality point of view? Re: 2 pack - satin finish? 2Nov 26, 2009 4:56 am 50% gloss or "satin" finish can be put down in a smooth coat with no trouble and is a very nice clean look. Because it is such an even surface it will still show marks from fingers and other contact but a good two pack is very durable and should last a long time. Any door painter or kitchen fabricator should be able to show you a sample piece of board coated in the finish you are interested in. Cheers, Earl Re: 2 pack - satin finish? 3Nov 26, 2009 6:18 am My boyfriend has the satin 2 pak, and it is very easy to clean and looks great. Re: 2 pack - satin finish? 4Nov 26, 2009 10:01 am yes vinyl may peel but 2 pak poly will chip, especially around kids. Make sure you can order touch up paint if need be. Satin is pretty cool and gloss level will vary also, some suppliers will do 30% some 50% and all between, but the important thing is cleaning and yes its very easy. If you need a kitchen drawn up, post it on this thread - gotta give me a couple of days though:) viewtopic.php?f=16&t=26892 Hi, did you get any money from insurance? if you did, does it match what you've already paid the builders? 3 9440 4 14398 Building Standards; Getting It Right!
