Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Nov 23, 2009 8:01 pm Hi Everyone This is my first time on homeone- after reading for some months, i'm finally registered. We are all set to build our new home, but are having doubts about our kitchen. We have at the moment plans for 3 sets of drawers. 2 x 800mm wide and 1 x 1000mm wide. I'm thinking that 1000mm is perhaps too wide for a set of drawers. Can anyone advise if this is a suitable size or should i be reducing it to 900, or 800? It is a set of 3 equal drawers situated under the 900mm wide hotplates where i'll be keeping all saucepans etc. Any help will be appreciated Re: drawers for the kitchen cooktop bench 3Nov 23, 2009 9:09 pm Why dont you have 3 sets of drawers equal sizes or keep the ones under the hot plates the same width then adjust the others. We have a 900 wide cooktop and kept the draws under this the same size then put a cupboards either side of this. It may look funny if the drawers are wider than the hot plates. Im sure on the other side of the kitchen on my island bench I have wider pot draws and they look great and I have no problems with them Know where your going in life............... you may already be there Re: drawers for the kitchen cooktop bench 4Nov 24, 2009 8:25 pm Thanks for your thoughts. Yes we are having the soft closures on all drawers and cupboards. And Taffy thanks for the pic. I love your set up - we're having the same profile and i hope it'll look as good. cheers Re: drawers for the kitchen cooktop bench 5Nov 25, 2009 8:30 pm I would have even drawer sizes as at 950mm wide each they would look consistant and fit great with the 900 wide cooktop. Long handles would also look great, help emphasize the length If you need a kitchen drawn up, post it on this thread - gotta give me a couple of days though:) viewtopic.php?f=16&t=26892 Hi - thanks for your reply.
