I am wondering if anyone has glass overhead cupboards in the kitchen (Opaque) and does the glass show the green tinge we have so often spoken about in reference to splashbacks?
Thanks. (piccies would be nice if you have them )

I had the option of white- plain white or with the green tinge glass. We went for the green tinge glass as it went with our colours better and i like the way it has a bit more depth than the plain white. Getting my splash installed tommorrow and will post a pic. Re: Do Glass cupboards have the green tinge? 4Nov 22, 2009 8:39 pm If you check out the Show me your Kitchen thread you can see our glass overhead cupboards. They are totally white. We did not want to see through them and we did not want aluminium edging. To get this look we had 2 pieces of laminated glass which were placed together and the white paint was sprayed between them. This was necessary so the Christello (spelling?) hinges would adhere to the glass. These hinges can not be attached to a painted backing.
Edited to add that we specified starfire glass. Re: Do Glass cupboards have the green tinge? 5Nov 22, 2009 9:16 pm Short answer is yes unless you get starfire glass. But some colours wont really show the green tinge, so you dont always need it. Built with Bentley homes in Doreen All moved in Dec 2009 Now for the garden! I am well aware and informed about the splahback issue and the green thing, but when choosing our kitchen the choices were Clear or Opaque, NO isuue re the green tinge. No choice, no question. I am FURIOUS. Way back then (May), I had no idea about such things. Thanks everyone for your replies. Here we go again. Another disagreement with them. We have perspex glass (not the frosty look one) and theres no green tinge. Re: Do Glass cupboards have the green tinge? 10Nov 23, 2009 6:43 pm Salt&PepperMkII Perspex/Lucite won't have a green tinge as it's not glass at all (unless it's deliberately put there). I'd actually prefer to have these options in a cupboard door where slamming and changes in heat as well as the general bashing that can go on accidently in a kitchen can make them very fragile Hi, Can anyone give me approx. price for overhead cupboards. TIA 0 11911 Need to remove glass panel out of concrete without wrecking the glass to get the spa room in, any recommendations on how to do that. Thank you 0 37681 |
