Well guys, kitchen nearly finished. Electrician damaged laminate surrounding a downlight so just waiting on a replacement piece of bulkhead for above the sink, then a mirror goes in to cover all that brickwork and another shelf, you can see the holes drilled for where it will be. Very happy with results, all went pretty smoothly and it has been worth the wait. Looking forward to cooking Christmas dinner this year! Will post more photos once completed. December 6th, 2009; PS, Bear with this post, I put pics on and then took them off, but have since posted full photos on Page 2 so scroll through if you want to take a peak at the end result, bulkhead, mirror etc all done. Loving it!!! Great job Love how wine racks are incorporated into kitchens, even though I don't drink the stuff! You've done a great job. Interesting choice for splashback and it works really well Re: Before and after pics from Davjoa 3Nov 04, 2009 4:02 pm What a difference!!! Love the tile splashback as it adds a sophisticated look - especially in the night. It's great to see the before photos so you can appreciate all the hard work. Is that an appliance cupboard in the corner? Re: Before and after pics from Davjoa 4Nov 04, 2009 4:19 pm Yes, did not get many "bells and whistles" as we were trying to stick to a budget. Just the wine storage, a "roll out tea towel hanging thingy" in a cupboard next to the sink and the appliance cupboard which is great. Have a toaster, a rice cooker and sandwhich maker fitting easily in there. If you were into baking I think it would be a godsend with an electric mixer just to pull out and use and then roll away. Re: Before and after pics from Davjoa 6Nov 04, 2009 8:38 pm LOVE the tiles you chose for your splashback!! Congratulations! Re: Before and after pics from Davjoa 9Nov 06, 2009 10:50 pm I'm going to join the club and say that I just looove those tiles The whole kitchen looks very elegant, well done Re: Before and after pics from Davjoa 10Nov 06, 2009 11:26 pm shell83 I'm going to join the club and say that I just looove those tiles The whole kitchen looks very elegant, well done DITTO!!! It all looks amazing!! I'm totally jealous of all your cupboard space!!! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Before and after pics from Davjoa 12Nov 07, 2009 8:33 am I love the laminate! What a difference new cabinets make to a kitchen. (OK, and paint, tiles, appliances etc... ) There's something missing though... Your wine rack looks a bit empty. Re: Before and after pics from Davjoa 13Nov 10, 2009 6:28 am Ha Ha, wine rack was three quarters full a couple of weeks ago, now only half full. Kitchen guys came and took old bulkhead away last Friday and will be here tomorrow with new one....I can't wait to see what it looks like with a mirror behind the shelving. Have to get new stainless fridge to top it all off, I picked it out and got the cavity to match what I will buy. Thanks for all the nice comments, and yep, I do love my tiles, not sorry about the choice. I do love glass splashbacks too, but thought with a mirror perhaps it would all look a bit hard and clinical. I have glass and wire balustrades near the kitchen too, so it already a lot of "hard" surfaces. I love the texture that the tiles add. Re: Before and after pics from Davjoa 15Nov 10, 2009 9:43 am Awesome result .. love the 2 tones you've chosen for cabinets and the whole theme looks aesthetically correct .. cool --- I don't have a signature - just this sentence saying that I don't have one - that'll do! I tried to just delete one picture in order to add the latest one but must have deleted the lot. Now I am just getting the "quota reached" message and cannot upload any pictures.
