Know what you mean Michelle, the Espresso on our laundry and bar area shows up every particle of dust, it also scratches easily and they show. I am a Windex fan but find the wet and dry microfibre cloths work better. Re: Cleaning dark coloured laminate 5Sep 30, 2009 12:30 pm I agree dark laminates are shocking, I have Laminex Charcoal kitchen and it's a pain to clean. I use hottest water I can handle with microfibre cloth and a soft cotton kitchen towel to dry. To remove grease (as in kids' grotty fingerprints), I put undiluted washing up liquid on my fingers and rub. Rinse as before. For really bad stains, I use an old pair of tights rolled into a ball (the thin ones), put some bicarb soda on, sprinkle with vinegar and rub while the mix is foaming. This is Shannon Lush's advice from her Spotless books and it really works well. I've tried Windex even though I only try to use enviro-friendy things (I was desperate) but it didn't do a thing. Re: Cleaning dark coloured laminate 7Oct 01, 2009 2:18 pm I agree with the microfibre, I use a chux cloth to wipe the benches down and microfibre to dry off and get rid of streaks ~*~Moved in on the 16th April 2011~*~ Re: Cleaning dark coloured laminate 8Oct 01, 2009 5:38 pm I just did my entire kitchen cupboards, benchtop, glass cupboards, fridge, greasy cooktop, oven etc etc with one dry and one damp microfibre cloth, even the grease came off with the wet one and I shined it up with the dry got fingerprints off everything got all yicky bits off the benchtop too, NO WINDEX OMG, it's a miracle Re: Cleaning dark coloured laminate 9Oct 01, 2009 5:41 pm SuH I just did my entire kitchen cupboards, benchtop, glass cupboards, fridge, greasy cooktop, oven etc etc with one dry and one damp microfibre cloth, even the grease came off with the wet one and I shined it up with the dry got fingerprints off everything got all yicky bits off the benchtop too, NO WINDEX OMG, it's a miracle Just water??
