Hi,
We have made a mistake by signing a contract on the first visit. We only had a vague idea of what we might want but when they got here and drew up a plan we got caught up in the excitement (and the on-the-spot discount) and agreed to it. After a few days we realized we hadn't asked or been told about a lot of the details, and wanted to just cancel it (and waive the discount if we re-signed later).
But they told us that we would lose our 10% deposit. On the contract it says if you cancel they will refund all your money except "all reasonable costs" and expected gross margin that they would have got from completion. All they have done at this stage is the 'design and quote' we would have got without paying anything - they say it has been passed to their CAD department, yet we don't get sent any drawings until we have a site check done.
Just wondering if anyone has had any luck getting any/all of their deposit refunded in a similar situation? Not hopeful...
Thanks
