Browse Forums Kitchen Corner Re: Renomart's website 2Jun 19, 2007 9:53 pm Thanks MEK for your kind words, but I must say I think my site looks quite bollocky actually. I need to sort out a 'look' but at the moment I am experimenting with other things and I can't be arsed to make the effort as yet!
Now, the kitchen in question is the Matrix kitchen by Varenna (which is a division of Poliform). The kitchen doors were hi gloss white acrylic paint and the benchtop was Carrera marble 52mm thick. The splashback was also Carrera marble. I will have an image gallery up shortly and you will be able to peruse the entire Poliform range from the comfort of your own home. I am also debating whether to put up a gallery where visitors can post their own kitchen photos but I first have to figure out how to do it. Re: Renomart's website 3Jun 21, 2007 4:51 pm Thanks renomart, half an hour after I posted this question, I looked through Varenna catalogue, and guess what I found... Thanks for the details, I did think the benchtop looked thicker than usual benchtops.
I have a huge issue with my benchtops, wanting 15 cm thickness, inserted granite on laminate edges... Our builder and cabinet maker are struggling... Re: Renomart's website 4Jun 21, 2007 5:03 pm Hi mek,
The problem that faces you if you want a 150mm thick benchtop is 'Where do I fit the dishwasher?' You would have to go for a single FP Dishdrawer. I don't know how tall you are but I would recommend a 950mm high benchtop. After deducting your required benchtop thickness and say, an 80mm kick you would be able to use a standard height kitchen carcase of 720mm. Re: Renomart's website 6Jun 30, 2007 6:28 am Hey R.M.
That's a pretty funky site you've got going. I can see what you mean about the colour; I find it disconcerting probably because there are so many large blocks of white for all the text, and these white fields don't really do it against that blue/grey. It seems most text heavy sites (like this one for example) rely on using a white background to deal with all the blocks of white. But I suspect that is going to be your problem with any strong colour you go with - and you have just moved away from using an all white background so unfortunately I don't have any better suggestions. Would strong borders be too crass? My only other thought on dealing with this is to make the page "less busy" but that also seems to be part of the heart of the design and changing that would be moving away from what you are doing with your site. Great work - you realy have your finger on the pulse. Cheers, Earl Re: Renomart's website 7Jul 07, 2007 2:50 pm Hey R.M.
The latest version is looking good - I like the header. Here is the site of a colleague of mine who has done something with a dark background...using white text...it is pretty basic but effective. It is only at prototype stage in case you feel it is a bit content light - he does do amazing slabs though. The desk in the "timber" gallery is the one that is now my work desk in our new studio. www.minnsandwalsh.com Cheers, Earl Hi, does anyone have a clue how the Brisbane Development website work in terms of how uptodate the dates on it are (developmenti.brisbane.qld.gov.au).
