Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Sep 23, 2009 12:37 am Can someone please explain to me the different edges you can get in laminate benchtops? I've tried researching and only pulling up pieces of information here and there, so I am hoping someone can put it in a "dummy's guide" for me I'm looking at getting a Diamond Gloss laminex benchtop for my kitchen, and want an edge where you can't see any joins in the edges (I think this is where the rolled edge comes in?) Can a rolled edge come in a square shape or only bullnose or d-round? (are those even the correct terms?) Is it possible in a laminate to not see any joins on top, either? If anyone has any pictures of their benchtops demonstrating edges, please feel free to post, as pictures do the most talking (and not to mention the fact that we all love pictures! ) Thanks! HTH Re: Edges available in Laminate Benchtops? 4Sep 23, 2009 4:51 pm sco77k, I have a feeling not many places give you the option, unless you enquire So that's why I want to know what is available so I can tell them exactly what I want! walker79, that link with the picture is GREAT!! Just what I needed! Thankyou! Though does anybody know if the diamond gloss range can be done in the 10x10 or 4x4 postformed edge? Re: Edges available in Laminate Benchtops? 5Sep 23, 2009 5:01 pm Hey Walker, great archaeology there..I knew that post was somewhere... Katie, I do not believe that Diamondgloss can be Tightformed (4 x 4) although it can probably take a 10 x 10. If you want Diamondgloss and a nice square edge your best option is still to go with a darkish pattern and have square laminated edges instead of postformed - or a light top and live with the dark edges. It is almost impossible to create an invisible join in a laminate top, although the busier the pattern the less noticeable the join will be.
