Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Sep 09, 2009 5:20 pm Hi all. Getting close to install date with the new kitchen now but we are still trying to sort out colours of splashback (tiles) and wall colour and any help would be greatly appreciated. We are now trying to pick a new wall colour as our current wall is a creamy colour and we are having some replastering done so figured we might as well update that colour also?! Using a standard white ceiling paint. Splash Back - will be a 300x600 polished porcelain in a latte or greyish tile Bench Top - Ice Snow Caesarstone Cabinets floor and wall - Accent White Colourpyne Hardware / Taps - Chrome finish Handles - Stainless steel D-pull style Floors - dark brown polished hardwood Any colour suggestions would be great. Thanks. Re: Final stages of kitchen planning - wall colour! 2Sep 10, 2009 9:22 pm Do you have any samples? You could put a pic up so we could see? www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Final stages of kitchen planning - wall colour! 3Sep 10, 2009 11:39 pm Your colours are fairly neutral and it depends if your looking for something lightish or something more bold. Will the colour just be in the kitchen or used throught the space? Pick a few colour samples that you like and if you can post a pic with your tiles/benches will be able to offer opinions. If your after a safe colour Dulux hogs bristle which has 1/2 or 1/4 could be a starting point. Re: Final stages of kitchen planning - wall colour! 4Sep 11, 2009 9:25 pm Sorry about the poor quality pics - this is the tile we are thinking. The white cupboards and cs are locked in already. The walls in other parts of the house are painted in a cream colour. Now i like all the kitchen colours and really think you have a wide colour range that would look greaton the walls, just depends what you like. I still think hogs bristle would work great with those colours. There is a reason why so many display homes use hogs, beacause its more modern than those yellowy cream colours and goes well with other colours. I'm living with peach walls in my living room but they are soon to go. Re: Final stages of kitchen planning - wall colour! 6Sep 11, 2009 10:12 pm Thanks for your input Mango. I was wondering why hogs bristle was so popular. The current kitchen is in pretty good condition so we are going to try and sell it on ebay - got heaps of storage space anyway so won't be in any hurry. Bad things about current kitchen is the colour, old gas stove and oven and lack of a pantry and as it curves around the other side of the U it just stops instead of cupboards continuing around to a pantry and fridge.
