Browse Forums Kitchen Corner Re: Dan kitchens 2Sep 07, 2009 11:36 am We do not have a Dan kitchen but we did visit their showroom and their kitchens are gorgeous. However, we were told we had to pay $750 just to get a quote and this was non refundable. I asked for a guide to their prices and was told that their average prices for a kitchen were from $40,000 to $60,000. This was without appliances. Re: Dan kitchens 3Sep 07, 2009 11:51 am Ouchy!!!! The non-refundable quote price is a bit much too - how do they get any business? MagicJ I finally have my own reno thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28335 The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue! Re: Dan kitchens 4Sep 07, 2009 12:12 pm You do have the $750 taken off your final price if you go ahead with them. However, I thought it was too much of a risk as their general price range was so wide. They are obviously aiming at the upper end of the market and perhaps if you have that kind of money $750 is nothing. Certainly we were not prepared to go down that path. Re: Dan kitchens 5Sep 07, 2009 3:24 pm Neverinished, who did you end up going with for your kitchen? I am in Sydney and am really struggling with who to use. I am looking to spend about $25k (for a mid sized kitchen)not including splashback or appliances so looks like dan kitchens are out of my budget. Re: Dan kitchens 6Sep 07, 2009 5:26 pm We went with a joinery company (Tasker's Joinery) at Taren Point. We had timber veneer and glass doors in our upper cupboards. The kitchen is a G shape and the price for all cabinetry but not the granite benches and splashback was $28,600. However, this included shadowline finishes, 2 Hafele magic corner units, a pull out pantry, 8 Blum tandembox stainless steel drawers, a pull out Hettich ironing board, kick drawers and soft close on all cupboards and drawers. I will be starting a thread soon when we have our new kitchen stools and there will be lots of pictures. We are in the Sutherland Shire and we had 5 quotes. Two were cheaper but we were not happy with their lack of response to changes we wanted. We had a slightly more expensive quote from Wonderful Kitchens at Padstow and their work looked good. Our horror quote was from Provincial Kitchens at Clovelly ($43,500) and this had less inclusions than we actually ended up with. When the owner of the business followed us to where we were having breakfast to see if we had taken her 6 tiny laminex samples and she watched my husband empty his pockets on the street to prove he did not have them (after an earlier phone call where we told her we did not have them) we decided hell would freeze over before we accepted her quote. Re: Dan kitchens 7Oct 11, 2009 9:27 am becdoll Does anyone have a Dan kitchen? I was wondering about your experience as well as approximate cost. Thank you. We have had a Dan Kitchen for 19 years. We have recommended them to our friends, who also bought a Dan kitchen. Their quality and service is amazing. It may cost more initially but well worth it over the long run. They offer a design service which I believe cost $750.00 now, that is well worth it because you get a fully rendered image which is amazing in itself. Our motto has always been do it well or do it twice. Go for it guys. "is it exempt or do I need to get permission from council" Call your Council and ask them 1 1557 |
