Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Aug 25, 2009 12:36 pm Hi everyone, I have prestart in 3 weeks and was wondering if anyone can give me an indication as to how much I should be paying for Essa stone bench tops? I have an island which is 2800x900 and then another bench top which is 2800x600, but I think I may just go for the island as a bit of a feature... any idea for say just the island? Cheers Re: Essa Stone 2Aug 25, 2009 1:13 pm Ours was expensive, but we wanted stone benchtops and it's the only one our builder uses so we went with it. This is for stand 20mm. Island (4m long) with the slab ends/waterfall edge other part of kitchen bench against wall (about 2m long) both bathrooms estimate we've been given is about $8000. It would have been about $6000, but the waterfall edges are about $1000 each. Bathrooms are included because it didn't make much of a cost difference as they said they do the bathrooms with the offcuts. Re: Essa Stone 4Aug 25, 2009 3:56 pm your builder might be cheaper, ask them for a quote. Plus it sounds like you don't require as much as we do, particularly if you only do the island. Is it WA? I'm guessing its more expensive over there as you have the transport costs to get it over there from the eastern states (a bit like opposite of the sandstone issues we get over here!). The company who does the small stone coverage over old benchtops is called Granite Transformations over here in Melbourne. It turned out to be just under $1500 cheaper for us to use our preferred stonemason over our builders regular one, but that would change depending on which builder you used obviously. ICK So glad the building is over, never again. Loooove our house, but still not quite sure it was worth all of the stress they put us through! Re: Essa Stone 7Aug 25, 2009 6:48 pm What you should do is put your measurements in to get several quotes. i shopped around, and an older guy who just works for himself gave me a much cheaper quote than the bigger companies, then, the bigger company said they would match it. It was only costing me $385 for each of my waterfall ends in 20mm granite' There really seems to be a huge variation in stone prices depending on the company. Re: Essa Stone 9Aug 25, 2009 9:39 pm The slabs of Essa Stone come as 3000mm long x 1400mm wide x 20mm deep. So if you can keep the depths of both pieces combined to 1400mm or less, you only need the one 3000mm slab and hence half the cost. But then no off-cuts... Re: Essa Stone 12Sep 18, 2009 6:24 pm I think Granite Perfection is in Bibra Lake. Someone told me about them before. By the way, could someone explain the difference between Essa Stone, Caesar Stone, and Corian benchtops? Cost wise how do they rank? 12 March 2010 - Land titles received 3 April 2010 - Signed building contract 14 April 2010 - Prestart 28 April 2010 - Loan approved 30 June 2010 - Slab completed 27 August 2010 - Brickwork completed 22 September 2010 - Roofing completed 30 September 2010 - Internal walls plastered 12 October 2010 - Lock Up 19 November 2010 - PCI 26 November 2010 - Handover 29 December 2010 - Moved In https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32584 Re: Essa Stone 14Dec 19, 2009 7:26 pm Hi Cheetah Red!nk told me for the whole kitchen in the standard layout (benchmark) for essa stone would be $3000-$4000 hence why I'm not getting it cos we extended the kitchen a fair bit, too pricey Dear Members I have to decide the Facade column size.
