Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Aug 16, 2009 5:10 pm A kitchen cabinet maker is discouraging me from 2 pac doors in the kitchen because of the chip factor. For the depth of colour you cant beat it. Vinyl wrap and diamond gloss laminate just don't cut it. Please tell me your experiences. Re: Two pac doors 2Aug 16, 2009 7:03 pm 2 pack is absolutly stunning and has endless colour choices which is a definate bonus. I'm not getting it because of the extra cost as well as the potential chip factor. Have you had a look at the gloss laminate boards available? Amerind, polytec, colorpyne- there is probably more and they have the gloss look but are more durable and much cheaper. Although to be honest it does not look as good as 2 pack but in the overall picture its a pretty close look. Re: Two pac doors 3Aug 16, 2009 9:01 pm Had 2pac in previous home would never have it again, esp if you have kids or pets it chips and scratches easily and then you have to get the doors resprayed. It looked great a first but as the years went past it started to look knocked around. The kitchen people I talked to also recommended against it and don't like doing 2pac.
