Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Aug 15, 2009 8:36 pm I am a first time renovator - open plan kitchen, lounge & dining - antique white kitchen with navy bench tops, wood floors, offwhite walls - all wood furniture except for navy lounge suite - would really like a feature wall around kitchen - am leaning towards yellow or orange!!!! Would really like some help here thank you! Re: Feature wall for open plan kitchen/lounge/dining 2Aug 15, 2009 8:59 pm Hi AnnMaree, Welcome to Homeone. In my personal opinion I think that yellow or orange as a feature wall might be a bit strong and perhaps you may get sick of it after awhile. My friend used Navy Blue as her feature being the end wall and the sofa, rug etc. Now I am racking my brain to try to think of the colour that she did the walls, it's a taupe type colour. I will try to think and get back to you. ANYWAY, at first when I saw the sample I sort of thought mmmm maybe, but when I saw it, it was GREAT. I loved it. The trims were white and she had a timber kitchen and furniture. It still looks fantastic and she did that about 6 years ago now. I will just do a little research and see if I can find the name of the colour or I will ask her tomorrow...stay tuned. It looked fantastic. I was thinking that you could use it as a feature. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Feature wall for open plan kitchen/lounge/dining 3Aug 15, 2009 10:06 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I just saw this on the front of the Freedom Spring catalogue. This stone colour always looks nice with the Navy I think. This is no the colour I am thinking of though but it's nice. The other colour has a slight touch of olive/khaki (ever, ever so slight) to it as opposed to Stone beige. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Feature wall for open plan kitchen/lounge/dining 4Aug 16, 2009 6:53 am Thank you so much for your speedy reply - I slept on it and you are right - yellow/orange would probably wear thin after a while - I really like your suggestion - if you could find out the colour for me that would be great. Re: Feature wall for open plan kitchen/lounge/dining 5Aug 16, 2009 10:21 am AnnMaree I have sent her an sms so I will letyou kno when she replies. Of course, Michelle on Homeone (in Michelle's Interior Decorating Lounge), is the total expert so you could ask her and if you wish I can move this topic to her Forum for you. Just let me know. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Feature wall for open plan kitchen/lounge/dining 6Aug 16, 2009 12:32 pm Ok, It's called Sand Trap by Wattyl. Not sure if it's one word or two. It was a few years ago so maybe they changed the name if you can't find it, get them to make you a sample. I think it will define the area but won't be in your face, and will match nicely with the timber, white and navy. It has a really nice warm, classy and comfy look. As I said, it looks fabulous in my friends house, everyone always comments on it. Good luck. Like I also said before, Michelle is the expert here, so run it by her if you feel unsure. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Hello!
