The kitchen is on an external wall, and the rangehood is vented to the outside just above the ideal space (north wall on the same side as Laundry door) for my clothes line. Not alot I can do about it, but remember to bring in the washing BEFORE I start cooking!! I guess the vents face downwards to prevent water/rain getting in. Although I was told with my particular style house the rangehood is always vented to the exterior (as the rangehood is on the exterior wall) but in every display home I looked at there was no vent! I made sure I asked in the contract for it to be vented outside just to be sure (and, yes, it's there)! I assume once the display homes are sold they would put the vent in as it's not necessary with the display. Dunno, just thinking out aloud!! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!!
