Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Aug 09, 2009 11:31 am I was wondering if anyone has 3 sinks in their kitchen, compared to the standard 2? I was thinking that because our sink will be in the middle island of the kitchen, i didn't want a dish rack sitting on the bench top. I then thought, what if I install 3 undermount sinks, and place a dish rack inside the actual 3rd sink, so the drying dishes are sitting below the level of the benchtop. This was an idea straight out of my head....so I'm not sure if it is strange. Has anyone thought/done anything similar? Re: 3 kitchen sinks? 4Aug 09, 2009 5:53 pm Interesting idea - would stop dishes fall off the edge also. I have put my sink against the wall - centre sinks do my head in - but you have found a solution here I think - you would still slightly see dishes though I think?? JL Re: 3 kitchen sinks? 5Aug 09, 2009 6:41 pm Hi Rinny! Very interesting you should bring this up now, we just bought a sink from Gr@ys Online Auctions and it has two full bowls and a drainer. I picked it up last Thursday and was very happy to find that it also included a chopping board that fits into the sink and a drainer that also fits into the sink! They've got them available on the site again (they're Kleenm@id selloffs from their liquidation). We got ours for about $150. .. bargain! Here's the link for the new ones: http://www.graysonline.com/Lot.aspx?id=3853236 Re: 3 kitchen sinks? 6Aug 09, 2009 9:07 pm We have bought a very similar one for our new kitchen. Ours is 1.25m long and has three separate bowls. Is undermounted and absolutely huge!! We bought it in the States and had a family member send it back to us. Some things are worth waiting for. I assume you mean a sink with 3 bowls or do you really mean 3 separate sinks?? We only have one sink - with one bowl Re: 3 kitchen sinks? 8Aug 09, 2009 11:32 pm Helyn Quote: I was wondering if anyone has 3 sinks in their kitchen, compared to the standard 2? Yes that's exactly what I had in mind....but wanted to see whether others thought this would be a strange look. Re: 3 kitchen sinks? 11Aug 10, 2009 9:05 pm I think it would look great! But I don't know about the strength of the pieces of stone in between each sink. . . stone's brittle and it would probably be in danger of snapping. . . best to ask a stonemason though I suppose. Hi, We're building a double-storey in Perth and I'm undecided with the kitchen sink situation. I'm set on having the main sink with dishwasher in the scullery - and… 0 20979 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6692 2 4706 |
