Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Aug 08, 2009 6:48 pm I have almost finalised my kitchen design but have 1 small problem to overcome. I have the main bank of cupboards and drawers with the oven against a wall and it is pretty symmetrical until I get to the appliance garage on the right hand side and the coffee machine on the left hand side. Does anyone have any suggestions how to make it look a bit more balanced or do you think it looks ok. If your coffee maker is not going to be integrated and will just be on the bench i would change the size of your wall cupboards to be of equal size in the space after the appliance cupboard and just have the appliance cupboard with the larger doors. That way you could have three equal cupboards on either side of the rangehood. You would also have to widen the drawers on either side as well and just have one set of drawers either side of the oven. The bottom drawers may end up the same size as the appliance drawers so would not look too big. I hope what i said makes sense. Had to read the post about 5 times for it to sink in. I probably don't want to move the oven (don't know why). Re: My Kitchen Design 6Aug 12, 2009 8:54 pm Instead of a mini roller door to hide appliances why don't you have a set of double bi-fold kitchen doors that sit in from the bench edge and a matching set on the opposite side as well. This would then hide your coffee machine and give you a symetrical kitchen design. Hope this makes sense. That makes sense and I suppose that is pretty much the only option unless of course I have roller doors each end. Otherwise I have a kitchen that may not be symetrical which may not be as bad as I think. They dont even need to be bi-fold - i've also seen people use those doors that open normally, then slide back into the sides of the cabinet - they're great. Elephantguy, I guess that it all depends how much of a feature that you want to make the rangehood/oven area... if you're going to use a dramatic splashback or one of those really stunning feature rangehoods, then i would definately try to make it symmetrical so that your eye is drawn to the centre of the wall where your feature is, but if you're going for that very cleanlined look where your rangehood and stove are going to blend in with the rest of the space, then don't worry about it too much! We officially own some dirt!! and a little grass... Our Bondi Greenwall was impressive from day one with advanced lush plants to provide a wow factor to this recently renovated living area. The boundary was less than 1… 0 15302 Thank you so much for the effort. We will use it to talk with builder. We also had idea of building duplex instead and seeking suggest ions. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=106744 11 13830 Once you know the basics, the rest is easy.
