Kitchens are like finger prints, no two are ever the same!! SmartPack did the kitchens for Channel 9's Home Made TV Show Re: kitchen sinks 4Aug 06, 2009 8:42 pm Ours is a 1 and 3/4 - it is an Abey sink, the Zenith 175 - both bowls are 200mm deep, it was a struggle to find one that deep, especially with both bowls the same. Also, they are not cheap. Ours was $630 from Plumbtec. Clark also have some deeper ones. Their Carmel sink has a main bowl depth of 220m, smaller bowl 140mm. Their Gourmet sink has main bowl 225m deep, smaller bowl 165mm. Their Grande sink has main bowl 235 deep, smaller bowl 175mm (Reece Plumbing gave us a price of $775 for this one ). And their Urban Plus sink has a main bowl of 235mm depth, with smaller bowl of 165mm. That's about all I came across in my research, but no doubt there are more around. Don't know if all that helps at all? MagicJ I finally have my own reno thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28335 The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue! Re: kitchen sinks 6Aug 06, 2009 8:57 pm Yes, I think because they are not "standard", they are definitely more expensive. We happened on the Zenith sink by accident in Melbourne when we were renovating there. It was on special for $450. After it was installed, I loved the fact that both the large and small bowls were the same depth of 200mm, but did not realise that it was quite unusual. When we commenced getting our next kitchen redone in Hobart, I wanted the same sink again but got a shock when I realised how expensive it was going to be !! BUT, it does pay to shop around. Tradelink quoted us $800 for the same sink (I nearly cried!), which I ended up getting from Plumbtec for $630 (whew, much better!). So my advice, for what it is worth, is to pick a sink you like and then go around several different plumbing supply places and see what quotes you get! Hi, We're building a double-storey in Perth and I'm undecided with the kitchen sink situation. I'm set on having the main sink with dishwasher in the scullery - and… 0 20940 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6636 2 4688 |
