If you use too much abrasion you will be putting fine scratches in the surface and that is where the trouble starts. A bit like Stainless steel if you scratch it, it will never be the same. It is particularly effective on biro. I can't speak for its effect on the caesar stone itself - mine does not appear to have suffered but i do wipe it off within about 30 seconds of its application.
