Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jul 21, 2009 10:09 pm Hi there I'm wondering if anyone can help with my dilemma! We are renovating our kitchen & have chosen the cabinetry colour - Polytech thermolaminated gloss in Cafe Creme. Our dilemma is the benchtop, we want a Laminex squareform top & it has come down to 2 colours - Sand Pebble or Mineral Harmony. If we choose the Sandpebble I am concerned it will look too washed out with the Cafe Creme. I want an off-white wall colour & a light colour tiled/glass splashback & the SandPebble would give me the look I want - a much brighter & bigger kitchen. However the Mineral Harmony might break up the colour between the cabinets & splashback? Opinions please! Re: Laminex squareform benchtop colour help please 4Jul 22, 2009 3:14 pm Judie, the pic you have labelled as 'sand pebble' looks more like Mineral Harmony to me ... The one with the Mineral Gloss label might be Sand Pebble. here's what I got from the laminex website: Sand Pebble Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Mineral Harmony Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The colour board does look great though! I like the Mineral Harmony with your other colours With a lighter grey glass splashback... in between the Cafe Creme and the wall colour, maybe picking up on one of the flecks in Mineral Harmony??? Re: Laminex squareform benchtop colour help please 5Jul 22, 2009 7:06 pm Hey thank-you for your replies! I wasn't really expecting many as I didn't attach any pictures. Thanks Judie for your colour board - am going to Bunnings tomorrow to pick up a colour chart. And Donuts I was thinking the same with the mineral harmony! Re: Laminex squareform benchtop colour help please 7Jul 23, 2009 7:34 am Hi Kitchen Novice, we have mineral harmony in our bathrooms. The walls tiles do kind of look grey. They're supposed to be ivory, but seem to have a very slight grey hint to them. Don't know whether these pics will help you at all : Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: Laminex squareform benchtop colour help please 8Jul 23, 2009 9:23 pm Southies your colours look alot like I what I am after for my kitchen. Do you think Sand Pebble would look too light against a similar coloured splashback ( like your ivory tiles)? I think maybe it might after seeing a larger sample at the Harvey Norman show room. Your Mineral Harmony looks nice & light. On my sample it seems to look a bit darker with not alot of variation in colour. When you had it done in your bathroom did it look lighter or darker than expected? I am a bit nervous as this is my first reno! Re: Laminex squareform benchtop colour help please 9Jul 23, 2009 9:28 pm The mineral harmony looked lighter to me. Rembember it's got a lot of light flecks in it, which you wouldn't see in a small laminate chip. THese light flecks brighten it & link to the ivory tiles. The question you have to ask yourself is how bright do you want your room to look ? If you want really bright go with the Sand Pebble. If you want lightness but with subtlety, then go the MH. Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Thankyou so much π I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK π 2 7140 Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3230 Hi Courtney The mitred edges are glued up with epoxy so those little holes and gaps are areas that weren't filled correctly.
