Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jul 18, 2009 1:29 pm We just got a quote back from a kitchen company who will supply a flat pack kitchen at about $3000.00 less than if they were to install it. I have searched this forum and found that with the flat packs, people like the adjustable feet. This company doesnt use those as the carcases sit directly on the kick board base. Has any one had any experience with installing that system DIY. is it much harder for the non professional to ensure its level. Is there any difference? Re: Flat pack kitchen on a kick board base? 2Jul 18, 2009 1:42 pm Adjustable feet is good because they are ... easy to adjust. However, they do have disadvantages: - they can break (esp when you're trying to push the carcass between two others. - fixing kickboard is a little harder Carcasses that go to the floor can be adjusted by putting some pieces of card under the "legs". Takes a little bit more time that's all. All the above assuming that your floor is not very uneven. Chris Re: Flat pack kitchen on a kick board base? 3Jul 18, 2009 2:29 pm Thanks for the reply. I'm still waiting for a quote for the flat pack from laminex but even with the $3000.00 saving from the local kitchen company, it seems worth pursuing the flat pack option.
