Enjoy your beautiful new space. Re: The kitchen is finally complete, sharing some pics 22Jul 15, 2009 11:27 pm Oh gee thanks I am happy with it (so exciting to have a dishwasher, never had one before!) I was a bit disappointed with my glass feature tiles to start with, I wanted the glass pieces longer and got talked out of it by a friend but i am over it now and the area needed to be broken up otherwise it was getting too neutral. Floors: Tasmanian Oak. Satin gloss with 1 pack, will double check with my dh though. We tried to match them up with the rest of the house at the front. Cupboards: laminate in Alabaster. The cheapest option, but more hardwearing with kids and honestly it looks fantastic, so happy we didn't spend the extra on vinyl wrap or 2 pack. Ended up with 16 soft close drawers. Took the advice i read on here, forget the cupboards go the drawers. Benchtops: Nova Aurora Caesarstone. Cabinet maker let me source them myself, went to a stone mason and saved $600. The bench is curved like that so we can sit 4 bar stools around and everyone can see each other rather than sitting in a line across. Paint: Sandy day by Dulux. THe colour totally warms the room and makes it, anything else would have been too cold. I read a lot here and that helped make decisions and made me think of things i needed to incorporate that i wouldnt have before. So thanks for all that advice I got the cabinet maker from heaven. He had so many ideas and was enthusiastic and loves a challenge. I got a couple of other quotes but they didn't compare and i Really built up a rappour with the cabinetmaker which helps. We started on drawings last November and the kitchen wasn't installed till June. If I get a chance i'll take some closer up photos so you can see the colours & design better. Hope that helps and that i have covered what you wanted to know. 6 7974 Thank you so much for the effort. We will use it to talk with builder.
