Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jul 14, 2009 10:43 pm Hi All, The attached plan is from our home which we will hopefully start building soon. The photo is from the original display home and gives an idea of the currently proposed upstand/bench end which is what we have most concern with. We were thinking perhaps cupboards with frosted doors or just shelves. Feel free to make any comments around the kitchen in general as well. Note we area already extending the bench(diamond gloss Tunsian) 300mm both towards the top (view 5)and right (view 3). We are looking at putting a set of additional 300mm deep cupboards under the extra bench space, as well as still having 300mm overhang for a breakfast bar. Cheers, firstbuild Re: Kitchen Layout and Design Advice 2Jul 15, 2009 9:05 pm That kitchen looks great. I like your idea to extend the island as you have the space to do it. i would get rid of that square end bit on the island though. It seems out of place. Have you considered doing a thicker square edge island with waterfall ends. There is a recent post with pictures of a sensational looking diamond gloss bench top with a 80mm egde. that kitchen benchtop looked so fantastic i was almost tempted to ditch the stone/granite i had planned to use, simply to have that thicker waterfall look. I do like the frosted glass doors too and might use them in my new kitchen. Re: Kitchen Layout and Design Advice 3Jul 16, 2009 9:43 pm Thanks Mango we will go back to Laminex on Saturday as they did have waterfall benches on display. We have also seen a cupboard option that we like as well so will have to think about the 2 options over the weekend. Hi, We're building a double-storey in Perth and I'm undecided with the kitchen sink situation. I'm set on having the main sink with dishwasher in the scullery - and… 0 20917 You never have a fridge against wall as you’ve drawn. The doors can’t open past 90 degrees and it’s difficult and maybe impossible to remove drawers 2 15600 |
