Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jul 12, 2009 5:40 pm Hi I am getting a new kitchen from ikea this is the design I have settled on at the moment. The big thing in the left corner is going to be a corner pantry that I will source from somewhere else. The kitchen space is 2.8m wide and 3.1 m long on the long wall. I originally wanted a return but it just made the kitchen to cramped. What do people think of the layout? Would like some suggestions I have been pulling my hair out trying to work this out. I have linked to some photos i have uploaded http://picasaweb.google.com.au/ptrave/Renovation?feat=directlink Re: What do people think of my kitchen design 2Jul 12, 2009 6:12 pm Just wondering where the sink is? Won't the overhead cupboards in the corner by the window block some of the light coming in the window? Re: What do people think of my kitchen design 3Jul 12, 2009 9:18 pm Hi, from looking at your plans it looks to me that the big coner pantry will be hard to open and sort of makes the whole kitchen feel smaller. Have you thought about making the depth of the pantry the same as the wall units. Maybe its just the software and the corner unit will not actually look that big or you could have an angled opening. I think the fridge and the other cupboard should be swapped as the fridge will protrude more and the cupboard in between the fridge and pantry will sink between the two. The window issue may also be a problem with light being blocked but i understand that you wanted symetry. We are also at the planning stage of our new kitchen and i'll be posting soon for suggestions. I have the same window issue with symetry of the upper cupboards and the range. Its driving me nuts. Where did u get the software from? Re: What do people think of my kitchen design 4Jul 12, 2009 9:21 pm The sink bowl is going to go to the left of the dishwasher under the window. I'm just going to have a single bowl sink with drying rack. It doesnt leave a lot of room to the left of the bowl though The window starts after the cupboards 400 from the corner doesn't quite look like it in the picture though. Its actually the current dining space in the house but im moving the kitchen to this space so I can open up the back of the house. Check it out in our thread, 'Hello all, what to do now?' See ya Graeme n Sarah you had a difficult space to work with i like what you have done. Re: What do people think of my kitchen design 7Jul 14, 2009 11:06 pm ok i have had another think about my kitchen space and come up with this plan not sure if it can be done or if its practical or not or just to expensive but its only a thought at the moment I have borrowed space from the laundry/toilet area to make a walk in pantry it gives us more bench space and a bigger pantry, in design it looks like the kitchen is less crowded then before too. The space taken from the laundry was really dead space anyway and the toilet is a second one. Could be an issue with the kitchen wall though as its a load bearing wall will need to speak to the builder to see if this can be done. Be interested to know what people think http://picasaweb.google.com.au/lh/photo/TzsF0ug_vgmD5N1FA6abeA?feat=directlink No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6587 Our Bondi Greenwall was impressive from day one with advanced lush plants to provide a wow factor to this recently renovated living area. The boundary was less than 1… 0 15235 Thank you so much for the effort. We will use it to talk with builder. We also had idea of building duplex instead and seeking suggest ions. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=106744 11 13777 |
